Winter is here!

The official Winter Olympics may still be two years away, but REVIVE Kids is staging their own Winter Games to kick off 2016 on Sundays from Jan 3-17.

Both of our REVIVE Kids classes (3-6/7-10 year olds) will be carrying out this exciting, three-week ‘Winter Games’ series.

Series Outline

WEEK ONE | TRAINING (Jan. 3)
Winter Olympic athletes go through a lot of preparation for the game. They learn the rules, they get in shape, and most important, they condition themselves to the cold. They prepare for it, and embrace it when it comes. Jesus said that we would have troubles in the life because we are his followers. Jesus didn’t want to scare us, but to prepare us so we would be ready to face it when it comes.

WEEK TWO | WIPEOUT (Jan. 10)
You won’t find more spectacular crashes anywhere outside the winter games. Winter sports are faster thanks to the snow and ice. Bobsled, luge, skiing, ski jump, snowboarding, hockey, even figure skating can give us spectacular crash scenes. Sometimes as Christians, we crash and burn. The question is, will we give up, or get up and climb that hill once more? Jesus’ death means he can forgive our sins. When we accept his forgiveness and forgive ourselves, we can get back up and start over.

WEEK THREE | GO FOR THE GOLD (Jan. 17)
Going for the gold requires preparation and perseverance, but we also need a coach to help prepare us and inspire us through hard times. Jesus was the “coach” to the disciples while he was on Earth, but when he returned to Heaven, he sent us a new coach: the Holy Spirit.
