Memory Verse for the month

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” – Philippians 1:21 (NIV)

Sept. 4: ON THE BUS

School buses take us to and from school. They are part of our school day, but they are not our destination. Sooner or later, the ride will end and we will arrive at school, or home. Sooner or later, we will arrive at life’s final destination too. When we do, we can know where we are going. If we accept Jesus as our Savior, we can go to Heaven and have eternal life!

Key Passage: Luke 23:39-43, The thief on the cross

Sept. 11: IN THE CAFETERIA

You are what you eat. The old proverb about the food we eat is not only true of our physical health but our spiritual health. If we feed our minds music and media that are worldly, we will act worldly. If we want to live for Christ, we need to dwell in things that are good and holy and of the Spirit.

Key Passage: Philippians 4:8, Concentrate on good things

Sept. 18: IN THE CLASSROOM

The classroom is filled with many different tools and resources that each plays a part in our education. From the desks and chairs to the marker boards and books, each one has a purpose. God has given each of us special gifts that we can use to play our part in the body of Christ.

Key Passage: 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, The body of Christ

Sept. 25: ON THE PLAYGROUND

The playground is often the best part of the day for kids, but sometimes, the playground isn’t so fun. Bullies, cheaters, and gossipers can ruin the fun for everyone. We can do our part to make the playground fun if we have the Fruit of the Spirit.

Key Passage: Galatians 5:13-26, The Fruits of the Spirit
