‘Will’ vs. ‘Can’: The Difference Will Leave You SPEECHLESS!

How the stories of Zechariah and the virgin Mary from Luke 1 greatly affect your life.

The words we use in discovering the greatness of Christ in our life are an indication of our faith and often dictate the level of Godly blessings we experience. In this impactful message, Pastor Dallas Cogle breaks down the intriguing stories of Zechariah and the virgin Mary from Luke 1 that will inspire while causing you to dig deeper in your faith going into 2016!

Luke 1: 18 – Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”

Luke 1:34 – “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”

‘Will’ believes the impossible is always possible with God. ‘Can’ entertains doubt as it relates to God’s promises.

‘Will’ puts us into God’s limitless box. ‘Can’ forces God into our limited box.

‘Will’ tells your problem how much bigger God is. ‘Can’ worries that God may not be big enough for your problem.

‘Will’ is about God’s potential to do anything. ‘Can’ wonders if God’s limitless potential is for someone else.

1. Righteousness ignites God’s blessings in our lives in ways we would never receive those blessings otherwise.

Righteousness: Becoming like Jesus in everything we do, everything we say, and in who we are

2. As we age, our “God will …” mentality tends to be replaced with “God can …”.

Having a “God will …” mentality maximizes God’s blessings and comes natural to us the more we experience God as the personal, Heavenly Father that He is.

3. Zechariah was speechless through all 9 months of Elizabeth’s pregnancy because of his doubt in God, illustrated with the word ‘can.’ You will enjoy the figurative sense of being speechless as ‘will’ replaces ‘can’ in your relationship with God.

What type of SPEECHLESS do you want? That’s based on your ‘God will’ or ‘God can’ mentality.
