1. When you are in love with God, you have the power to do anything.
Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
2. When you are in love with God, it’s not “if” as it relates to adversity occurring. It’s always a question of “when.”
The Enemy will attack you in an area you formerly got the victory over. Paul, before he was saved, used to unfairly persecute Christians. Now he was being unfairly persecuted.
3. When you are in love with God, you invest spiritually during the high times in order to make it through during the storms of life.
If you get undisciplined spiritually during the great times in your life after a spiritual breakthrough or when God has blessed you, you’ll have a hard time staying in love with God during storms and tests of life.
4. When you are in love with God, you see the miraculous take place in your life.
Paul and Silas – and the other prisoners – were set free by an earthquake that was strong enough to shake the foundations of the prisons and open the prison doors, while breaking the prisoners’ chains and shackles, yet no one got hurt physically … THAT’S A MIRACLE!
5. When you are in love with God, you love others and want them to experience God and His blessings.
Had Paul and Silas not been in love with God, they would have escaped once the earthquake happened and not worried about the welfare of the jailer. By their compassion on the jailer, his life was spared and he and his family came to know God.
6. When you are in love with God, you get exalted in order to bring praise and glory to Him. You are exalted way beyond any glory you could bring yourself.
God’s plans of exaltation are far greater than our own selfish plans of exaltation. We trigger God’s exaltation in our lives through humbling ourselves to the Savior we love.
