The trump card is the winning card even if your opponent has a high card. It trumps your card and wins.
If we are not careful as believers, we give Satan a trump card in our lives.
Three areas that could be trump cards from the story of the Prodigal Son:
1. SECRETS
Secrets start in your mind and then the enemy helps you devise a plan to carry them out.
2. SIN
Sin always takes you farther than you want to go, cost you more than you wanted to pay, and requires more than you wanted to give.
3. SHAME
You can know you are forgiven, but you can still feel shame because of what you have done in the past.
You want to win the Trump Card Battle? Hold onto your own trump card – the cross! Satan my hold the two of spades, but God holds the ace of spades!
