Twisted Plan to Prosper
The Bible is full of wisdom. People love to quote their favorite verses to encourage and inspire each other—but sometimes, those verses get taken out of context. What happens when the most important message of all gets Twisted?
In this four-week message series starting this Sunday, we will cover four of the most misused verses in the Bible. Learn the context of the verses, what they really mean, and how to find the richness God actually meant to show us through them. Verses in this series include “for I know the plans I have for you…” in Jeremiah 29:11, “ask anything in my name” in John 14:14, and others.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declared the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
HOW DO YOU TRANSLATE THE BIBLE?
1.Understand the context.
2.Interpret scriptures with other scriptures.
3.Apply what you learn.
Who is this written to?
•Jewish exiles in captivity in Babylon
Why are they in captivity?
•They blatantly rebelled & disobeyed God
Two types of promises in God’s Word:
•Specific promises – made to a specific group/person
•General promises – made to everybody
Jeremiah 29:11 is a specific promise.
Every promise in God’s Word must be applicable to everyone worldwide. If the Bible’s promises are not true everywhere, they’re not true anywhere.
So, does God have a plan for your life? Indeed, He does!
Here’s our general promise: Jeremiah 29:12-13
12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.”
