Diary of a Worry-Free Kid
Worry is one of the few things all of humanity has in common. Some people are full-blown worrywarts! But while Jesus was on earth, he commanded us NOT TO WORRY. Seems impossible, right??! But what if we actually executed Jesus’ worry-free plan? We would find that it’s definitely possible to live a worry-free life while going about being used to do big things for his kingdom.

Matthew 6:25-34
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Worry is one of the few things all of humanity has in common. In fact, it can be a very strong unifying force for a group of people.
Worry makes our God small, because it becomes the focal point of our life. It becomes our whole world.
Worry is all about the future. Only God knows the future. Because humans are the only part of creation made in God’s image, we have an ability of expectation/ anticipation of the future. It’s that ability that makes us prone to worry.
When we worry, we bring tomorrow into today – and today is already busy enough. And only God knows exactly what our tomorrow holds.
If God cares so much about nature that animals and plant life naturally take care of themselves through the ecosystem that He created, how much more is God concerned about you and me given we’re made in His image.
RELABEL YOUR WORRY BY CALLING IT “TOMORROW.”
That way you’ll always stay focused on today, keeping God and life in its proper perspective.
The antidote to worry is being passionate about God’s kingdom, and then He’ll take care of your needs.
Philippians 4:6-9
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
