When You Think About Marriage

The Book of Proverbs is wisdom for us. • There is a right way to approach relationships. • There is a wrong way to approach relationships. • And all throughout the Book of Proverbs, we see both.

THE ROCK TUMBLER
Marriage is like two people inside a rock tumbler, knocking the rough edges off of one another.

Genesis 2:18 NLT
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”

Ephesians 5:31 NLT
As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”

1. MARRIAGE NEEDS A FIRM FOUNDATION.

2. MARRIAGE IS MEANT TO BE FOCUSED AND A FORTRESS.

3. MARRIAGE IS MEANT TO BE A FLOWING FOUNTAIN.

4. MARRIAGE IS MEANT TO BE FRISKY, FIERY, AND FUN.

5. MARRIAGE IS FULL OF FRICTION.

6. MARRIAGE NEEDS TO FIGHT FORWARD.

7. MARRIAGE IS MEANT TO BE FULFILLING AND TO FULFILL GOD’S PURPOSE.

God uses both marriage and singleness to complete the work that He started in us as Believers.
