Many people in our culture are increasingly hostile toward Christian values. What do we do?
If we trade our convictions for convenience, we risk losing the very foundation of who we are in Christ.
How do we learn how to live with conviction in a culture of compromise? The Book of Daniel gives a clear answer.
The king changed Daniel’s name:
· Daniel: God (Elohim) is my judge
· Belteshazzar: Bel protect the king
Daniel was determined not to dishonor his God.
· Daniel was determined … Daniel 1:8 NLT
· Daniel made up his mind … Daniel 1:8 NASB
· Daniel purposed in his heart … Daniel 1:8 KJV
If you’re going to live with conviction in a culture of compromise, it’s wise to make some pre-determined resolutions.
Daniel honored God — God honored him.
Daniel and his friends didn’t just blend in.
They stood out! They were different in a good way.
THERE IS A GOD IN HEAVEN.
Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
