Defeat Your Negative Thoughts

WINNING THE WAR IN YOUR MIND Our thoughts are powerful. They change our perspective, impact our decisions, and influence our habits. But what do we do when we become trapped by our thoughts, unable to escape negative and unhealthy thinking? Let’s learn what it means to take our thoughts captive and win the war in our minds. For four weeks, Pastor Tom Cogle will lead us into thinking biblically and give us the tools we need to start changing our thinking so that we can “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5-11

The life you have is often a reflection of the thoughts you think.

Mental Filter: mistake in reasoning based on personal experiences or preferences
The filters you have shape how you see life.

It’s not the facts that are different, what is it? It’s the filter! We all have our own filters.

Reframing: creating a different way of looking at a situation or relationship by changing its meaning
· You can’t control what happens to you.
· But you can control how you frame it.

The Apostle Paul reframed his situation, made the best of it and ended up a greater witness for Christ than before.(Philippians 1:12-14)

REFRAMING YOUR STORY AND RELATIONSHIPS

1. THANK GOD FOR WHAT DIDN’T HAPPEN.

2. PRACTICE PRE-FRAMING.

3. LOOK FOR GOD’S GOODNESS.
