We’re seeing an uptick in anxiety because of everything that’s happening in our world and in our day-to-day lives.
· Chronic anxiety
· Acute anxiety
As bad news arises and things get complicated in our personal lives, it’s easy to leave joy and get caught up in anxiety. Paul gives us God’s prescription:
1. RETURN TO JOY
You can move from anxiety to joy because of the Holy Spirit who lives within you.
2. FIND YOUR TRIBE.
If you’re going to ease your anxiety and return to joy, you’ve got to find like-minded people and hang out with them. People who have returned to joy!
1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 is a checklist for your soul’s emotional health.
We don’t have good seasons and bad seasons of life. We have both seasons at the same time, like parallel train tracks running through life. There’s always a reason to rejoice and there’s always a reason to be filled with anxiety. If you spend too much time on the single track of anxiety, it will do a number on you. In every circumstance of life there’s a reason to jump over to the joyful track and embrace it.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
