Backstory to David’s slaying of Goliath
HOW TO AVOID THE HYSTERIA OF A FEAR-FILLED CULTURE:
- When you fear God, you have nothing else to fear.
Fear of God is displayed through obedience to Him: Faithfully submitting to his Authority.
- Your calling by God should never supersede your obedience to God.
David: Anointed king of Israel at 15 years old, then went back to being a shepherd. After he slayed Goliath also at the age of 15, David basically worked for Saul until fleeing for his life. He didn’t assume the throne until age 30.
3. Your testimony is not a thing of the past but a victorious way of life you’re living in daily.
Your attitude is the barometer of whether you’re living in victory (with a current testimony) or your testimony was nothing more than an achievement of the past.
We all have to do a CSI on ourselves when it comes to our lives.
