How to Be Dissatisfied

We all know that if we had a little bit more we would be happy. (Bad Advice!)
HOW TO BE DISSATISFIED
1) FOCUS ON BEING UNGRATEFUL.
Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
2) COMPARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE MORE.
We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.
2 Corinthians 10:12
3) PURSUE TEMPORARY POSSESSIONS OVER ETERNAL TREASURES.
“Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of his possessions.” Luke 12:15
4) DEVELOP AN ATTITUDE OF ENTITLEMENT.
For the wages of sin is death… Romans 6:23
HOW WE LIVE REVEALS WHAT WE BELIEVE
For many believers, what Jesus offers us, really by the way we live, it isn’t as good as what the world offers.
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:7-8
Christ is not enough, Christ is way more than enough!
C. S. Lewis once remarked “Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different.”
Many times, we are unwilling to look back and honestly assess how far we’ve drifted from the foundation of God’s word. Day by day, our beliefs and practices look much the same, but the truth is that every time we choose this world and its stuff over God’s truth, we lose just a tiny bit more of ourselves to the enemy’s delight and our Lord’s disappointment.
We don’t have to look far to see where this destructive path will lead, but the choice is ours whether or not we will continue to follow it. So, choose this day whether you will serve the gods of culture or the God of truth and then know that it’s a choice you’ll have to make every day between now and eternity.
Choose wisely.
