Three Ways We Are Not Like This World
1.) We live by faith, not by fear.
John 14:1 & 27- “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
2 Timothy 1:7-For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
2 Corinthians 5:7- For we live by faith, not by sight.
2.)We are sacrificial, not selfish
Philippians 2:3-4-Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
Acts 2:44-47- All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
3.)We shine the light, we do not hide it.
Matthew 5:14-16- You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
2 Corinthians 4:7-9- But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
