The weeks between Passover and Pentecost seem less familiar than the first few days after Jesus’ death. We know that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and three days later rose from the dead. But what about after that? What about the times Jesus appeared to His disciples during His 40 days on earth and the coming of the Holy Spirit? What do these days mean for Christ-followers today? This is a new series that will walk us through the Scriptures and 50 days that changed the world. After Jesus resurrection He was on the earth for 40 days. Then the disciples were in the upper room fasting and praying and seeking God for 10 days. And then Pentecost came! Sunday June the 5th is Pentecost Sunday and so this whole series of messages is guiding us toward Pentecost Sunday and we’re going to believe God for a mighty outpouring of his Holy Spirit.

Why did Jesus spend 40 days on the earth after his resurrection? One of the reasons was to get the disciples to BELIEVE!
1. BELIEVE JESUS IS GOD.
The question is not, “If Jesus can do anything,” the question is, “If you can believe.”
2. BELIEVE JESUS LOVES YOU.
Many people just cannot believe that Jesus loves them.
3. BELIEVE YOU LOVE JESUS.
Perhaps you have denied Jesus as Peter did.
Maybe you denied Him at school, at work, maybe at the bar or the hotel room or among your family and friends. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that you don’t love Jesus. Maybe you just blew it like Peter did.
