Jesus’ message to the church at Pergamum is to refuse to compromise to the culture that you’re living in.
1. REFUSE TO COMPROMISE YOUR HUMILITY. (Pride)
Pride always wants to be lifted up, exalted, and seen above others. The answer to pride is not to be insecure. The answer to not being insecure is to be secure. And the only way to be secure is to be in God’s love.
2. REFUSE TO COMPROMISE YOUR INTEGRITY (Idolatry)
You cannot compromise your integrity to fit in with the culture around us and it not affect your relationship with God.
3. REFUSE TO COMPROMISE YOUR PURITY. (Immorality)
You can’t look down on someone who sells sex if you’re giving it away for free. Biblical sexual ethics teaches us that we’re to save ourselves for someone who values us in marriage.
