Things Jesus Never Said: “You Won’t Have Bad Days

These days it’s easy to see life the way we want to. We can filter our images, pick the news we want to hear, and listen only to the viewpoints that agree with us. When we do that, we start to distort our view of the world. The same thing can happen to our view of God. We reshape our perception of Him into what we want to believe, or what we want to think about others. Jesus came to bring us the truth about God and His plan for us, and it doesn’t always sound like what you may think. This series cuts through the noise of the world’s perceptions of Jesus and what it means to follow Him, in ways that may be surprising to some people. It plays off the idea of memes as jokes, rhetorical devices, and sources of misinformation to debunk popular misconceptions and bring clear truth.

Jesus never promised you’d always be healthy, wealthy and without bad days.

Jesus did say, Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. John 16:20

If pain is a promise, then there must be some type of purpose behind what God would allow His children to go through.

Two of the blessings that we actually experience in trouble and hardship:

1. TROUBLE, TRIALS AND HARDSHIPS PROVE YOUR FAITH.

If there is a genuine faith, there must be a counterfeit faith.

Jesus says, “In this world you will have trouble, but in Me you will have peace.”

2. TROUBLE, TRIALS AND HARDSHIPS PREPARE YOU FOR

PURPOSE.

God preparation comes packaged as pain.

I want my faith to be proved so that I can be prepared for what God has in store for me!
