ARE WE THERE YET?

The Bible doesn’t reveal end time prophecy to SCARE us but to PREPARE us! God isn’t about CONCEALING what is to come but REVEALING what is to come.

The Bible doesn’t reveal end time prophecy to SCARE us but to PREPARE us! God isn’t about CONCEALING what is to come but REVEALING what is to come.

Peter 3:1-9
Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.
2 I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.
3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.
4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”
5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.
7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Isaiah 46:9-10
Remember the former things, those of long ago;
I am God, and there is no other;I am God,
and there is none like me.
10 I make known the end from the beginning,
from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’

Amos 3:7
Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets.

2 Peter 3:8
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

7 days of creation parallel the 7000 years of human history.

The first day of creation corresponds with the first 1000 years of human history:
•On the first day of creation, light was separated from darkness.
What happened during the 1st 1000 years of human history:
•Adam and Eve sinned, and light was exposed to the darkness.
•Spiritually, light and darkness were separated.

The second day of creation corresponds with the second 1000 years of human history:
•On the second day of creation, the waters were separated from above and below.
What happened during the 2nd 1000 years of human history:
•God used water to judge and destroy the earth.
•The waters covered the earth above and then receded below.

The third day of creation corresponds with the third 1000 years of human history:
•On the third day of creation, plants yielding seeds were planted and fill the earth.
What happened during the 3rd 1000 years of human history:
•God promised Abraham that through his seed the whole earth would be blessed!

The fourth day of creation corresponds with the 4th 1000 years of human history:
•On the fourth day of creation, the light in the heavens was created.
What happened during the 4th 1000 years of human history:
•Jesus was born into mankind as the light of the world!

The fifth day of creation corresponds with the 5th 1000 years of human history:
•On the fifth day of creation, all the living creatures are created.
What happened during the 5th 1000 years of human history:
•Through Jesus death we are new creatures created in Christ.

The sixth day of creation corresponds with the 6th 1000 years of human history:
•On the sixth day of creation, man was told to fill the earth and subdue it.
What is happened during this 6th 1000 years of human history – of which we are living in today:
•Man has subdued and filled the entire earth.
•8 billion people living on planet earth!

That leaves one more day: The 7th day!
The seventh day of creation corresponds with the 7th 1000 years on God’s calendar:
•On the seventh day of creation, God rested from His work. And what are we waiting for in the 7th 1000 years on God’s calendar:
•The earth will be given rest during the 1000-year millennial reign of Christ!

We are in the 6th day, the 6th 1000 years. We know that there is only one more day left, one more 1000-year period.

John 2:1-11
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,
2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, (not two, not 4 but six….remember that….it’s important) the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.

8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so,
9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside
10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
•“signs” – we often think of this as a miracle, but the Bible says it was a sign. (there are miracles, wonders, and signs)

Think about this:
•There were six water jars, not 2 not 4 but six.
•When the six water jars were filled, then Jesus produced the wine.

What was Jesus doing at the beginning of his ministry?
•He was serving Heavens wine at the wedding in the beginning.

What is Jesus gonna be doing at the end of His ministry:
•When He comes and snatches us away?
•He’s going to be in Heaven serving Heaven’s wine at the wedding in the end

It makes perfect sense when we read:
Matthew 26:29
I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

2 Peter 3:8-9
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.(Peter is reminding us of God’s calendar.)
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

•God is not off of His calendar.
•He is not in Heaven, wondering, “Humm I wonder if today is the day I should return.”
•He is not waiting for the last person to come to repentance

He has a schedule – a calendar
He has an appointed time for His return.

ARE WE THERE YET?
•We are – right at the end of the 6th 1000 years.
•JESUS IS COMING SOON – VERY SOON!
