Back to Basics – God’s Word – Light to the World

We need to recognize the effects prayer can have on our lives and our world. There is a lot of unrest and anxiety in our nation today, but prayer changes situations on a personal and national scale. It is our responsibility as believers to pray for the future, not to become anxious about it. Laying our cares at Jesus’ feet in prayer helps us feel less anxious and lifts our burdens.

We need light to navigate through darkness. If there was ever a time we needed God’s Word to give us light and the ability to navigate through life, it is today!
God’s light keeps us from stumbling. When we are in a dark place, God’s Word dispels the darkness and brings us back into the light.

Psalm 119:105Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
1. LIGHT DISPELS DARKNESS.
God’s light helps us walk in a dark world. When our eyes wander into bad places, we open the door to darkness. However, when our eyes focus on goodness, our bodies are filled with His light.

2. LIGHT RECOVERS LOST THINGS.
Things are discovered and unveiled when light penetrates the darkness. We can ask God for the light of revelation when we become lost.

3. LIGHT SHOWS THE WAY.
Light enables us to know which direction or steps to take. When we need to hear from God, His Word tells us to praise, pray, and proclaim (Psalm 100:4; Philippians 4:6).
