These days it’s easy to see life the way we want to. We can filter our images, pick the news we want to hear, and listen only to the viewpoints that agree with us. When we do that, we start to distort our view of the world. The same thing can happen to our view of God. We reshape our perception of Him into what we want to believe, or what we want to think about others. Jesus came to bring us the truth about God and His plan for us, and it doesn’t always sound like what you may think. This series cuts through the noise of the world’s perceptions of Jesus and what it means to follow Him, in ways that may be surprising to some people. It plays off the idea of memes as jokes, rhetorical devices, and sources of misinformation to debunk popular misconceptions and bring clear truth.

Message:“YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE”
Text: Luke 23:32-42

What do we do when we find ourselves feeling guilty before God?
· Today I want to look at what Jesus did not say about sin and guilt.
Luke 23 describes the last hours of Jesus’ life.
There were three crosses with a criminal hanging on either side of Jesus.
· One of the criminals mocked Jesus.
· The other criminal admitted he was getting what he deserved.
Luke 23:43 NLT
And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Most would say it’s not fair that the criminal was forgiven.
Most would say he did not deserve forgiveness.
When we look at our own lives all of a sudden we realized we did not deserve forgiveness either.
Jesus did not come just to make bad people good.
Jesus came to make dead people alive.
Psalm 103:10-12 NLT
10 He does not punish us for all our sins;
he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
12 He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
