PASSOVER TO PENTECOST – According to the Flesh

The weeks between Passover and Pentecost seem less familiar than the first few days after Jesus’ death. We know that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and three days later rose from the dead. But what about after that? What about the times Jesus appeared to His disciples during His 40 days on earth and the coming of the Holy Spirit? What do these days mean for Christ-followers today? This is a new series that will walk us through the Scriptures and 50 days that changed the world. After Jesus resurrection He was on the earth for 40 days. Then the disciples were in the upper room fasting and praying and seeking God for 10 days. And then Pentecost came! Sunday June the 5th is Pentecost Sunday and so this whole series of messages is guiding us toward Pentecost Sunday and we’re going to believe God for a mighty outpouring of his Holy Spirit.

We don’t know what Jesus looked like, but when we imagine Him, we do it “according to the flesh.”

Forms of prejudice in our world:

1. Ethnicity

We must get to know people as individuals in need of a Savior.

2. Gender

There is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
3. Age

It’s OK to respect our elders. It’s not OK to disrespect our youth.

4. Appearance

Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
