The pardon test is the test of forgiveness.
Three words to help us forgive those who don’t ask our forgiveness:
1. RELEASE
Nothing’s going to happen to the person who offended you if you don’t forgive. Instead, you’re the one that’s going to be tormented.
Unforgiveness is like drinking poison, hoping the other person gets sick.
2. RECEIVE
The reason many people have difficulty giving forgiveness is because they have a difficulty receiving forgiveness.
3. BELIEVE
In order to receive from forgiveness you’ve got to believe the God has forgiven you.
When I can understand that God has forgiven me freely and fully then I can forgive other people freely and fully. It’s not whether they repent – I can do it because God has forgiven me.
