But when believers gather and pray together, powerful things happen: the Spirit equips the saints for ministry, the helpless are met with help, and believers experience the joy of being led by the Spirit of Jesus. As you grow in the Lord we recognize there are different kinds of prayers.
1. REVELATION
God wants to reveal things to you in prayer.
2. ILLUSTRATION
The church is built on the rock Christ Jesus.
3. EXPLINATION
Jesus is building his church and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
4. AUTHORIZATION
I solemnly say to you, whatever you forbid on earth must be already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth must already be permitted in heaven. Charles B. Williams; The New Testament: A Private Translation in the Language of the People, 1960
5. EXORTATION
When we get together as a church and pray it greatly increases the effectiveness of that prayer.
